Pig Shak BBQ - Richland is part of a local franchise of 2 restaurants and is owned by the Bennett Family, aka Bennett Enterpirses LLC. Pig Shak BBQ - Richland opened its doors at 655 Hwy 49 South in March of 2009 and has been increasing in customer base ever since. We make friends with everyone who walks through our doors by providing the best service, laid-back conversation, best smoked meats, fresh sides prepared daily and the best mouth-watering large smoked pork ribs in the area. Our customers say that our huge smoked loaded potatoes are "to die for!" They come from miles around just for our ribs and smoked potatoes and, of course, pick up all the fixin's while here. We consider it an absolute privilege to serve our guests and give them a "party in their mouth."
All of our meats are dry rubbed to perfection and served without BBQ sauce. We want you to taste the meat and not just the BBQ sauce. We provide all to go orders with your choice of Sweet, Regular or Hot BBQ sauce and all sauces are provided on the tables for our dine in customers.
We make sure that every customer is treated with utmost respect and do our best to make sure that we can serve you what your taste buds are craving. But, due to the nature of the restaurant business and because we cook and smoke fresh daily, there may be times when we run out of prepared food or have an error or delay in product delivery.

Best Sausage Chowder in the area
I visited for the very first time on Friday when the lunch special was a pulled pork sandwich with a side and a cup of sausage chowder.
Not being from the northeast, I have never tasted any kind of chowder. much less sausage chowder.
I loved it. Bursting with flavor, my mouth was having a party. The pulled pork sandwich was heaping and falling off the bun. Moist and tender (most sandwiches I get form other places are hard and dry), it was delightful. They serve it dry, so you can add your choice of sauces. They do not contaminate it with cole slaw either (after visiting many in this area, I have learned to ask first). In total - lunch was under $10. Owned by veteran, Kurt, offers military discounts. I am not military, but was touched to listen to his stories when he was talking with other customers.

BEST BBQ EVER!!!

I eat Pig Shak frequently, but monst on Fridays as it is Sausage Chowder Day!! "Nuff said... However... today I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and try thier Smoked Potatoes...NOT to be confused with baked potatoes!!!!! That was the best dang potato I've ever eaten!! I couldn't even bring myself to put all of my sour cream on it. An added bonus is the Custmoer Service. Thier is none better around! Stop by and see the buys... you will leave full and happy!!

Passing thru, had to try. Not disappointed at all. Ribs were tender and fell oof the bone. BBQ beans and green beans were dynamite. You will not be hungry and well worth the stop. Would definitely come back again
